The Mack Granite and TerraPro models are manufactured at this one-million-square-foot plant in Macungie, PA, just outside of Allentown.
The Macungie Assembly Operations ISO 14001:1996 certification was upgraded to the ISO 14001:2004 standard by LRQA in June 2005.
The plant has incorporated a purge solvent that is free of Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP's) which resulted in a decrease of HAP's emissions by nearly 81%;
- The plant eliminated lead and chromium from basecoat paints.
- The plant reduced the amount of landfill waste per unit by 23% from 2004 to 2005.
- The plant incorporated the use of natural gas fired air handlers and natural gas fired boiler which has resulted in substantial reductions in air emissions and energy utilization.
